Monona Terrace 1959 Rendering Mug
Availability: In stock
Monona Terrace, located on the shore of Lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin, was first designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1938. He completed eight different revisions before his final rendering in 1959. Arches and wave patterns were designed to deliberately echo the curving lines of the state's Capitol and the adjacent lake. Wright was committed to designing a public space near his boyhood home of Madison, Wisconsin. Monona Terrace became a reality and opened its doors July 18, 1997. This 11 fluid ounce ceramic mug features a design based on Frank Lloyd Wright's 1959 revision of Monona Terrace. The mug is microwave and dishwasher safe and comes gift boxed.
