Frank Lloyd Wright originally created this Native American sculptural figure to go with his design of the Nakoma Country Clud in Madison, Wisconsin in 1923. Due to the costs of construction, the country club chose not to build Wright's design. His design was finally constructed, after his death, in Clio, California in 2001 by the Taliesin Architects. The Nakoma sculpture is symbolic of the earth and Mother Nature as well as domestic virtue. She holds a round bowl, carries a papoose and has a child by her side. L: 5.5" x W: 4" x H: 11.5"
